Generous Hibs open doors on Christmas day to help less fortunate
Hibs are appealing to supporters and the wider community to nominate people who would appreciate a delicious Christmas Day lunch with good company and entertainment.
The Club is opening the stadium to A GameChanger Christmas on December 25th, and can accommodate up to 230 guests. Transport can be arranged.
The aim is to bring together people who might otherwise be alone at Christmas, or who might not be able to join in the celebrations and festivities most of us take for granted.
Already the Club and its GameChanger partners, Hibernian Community Foundation and NHS Lothian, has worked with a number of organisations working in Leith and North East Edinburgh to identify people who would benefit from taking part.
However, there are still spaces available, and Hibs are now asking their supporters to get involved by nominating people that you think would benefit.
Interested parties should contact Laura Montgomery at lmontgomery@hibernianfc.co.uk or on 0131 661 2159 before Wednesday, letting her know the name of the person or family, and why they think they would enjoy the event. Please ensure you provide the club with your own contact details.
Leeann Dempster, Chief Executive of Hibernian FC, will be on duty on the day to help make sure the day goes well. She said: “I’m looking forward to it. It will be a terrific Christmas Day at Easter Road, and we want to share it with as many people as we can who might otherwise not be looking forward to Christmas.
“If you know of anyone else who would enjoy it, please let us know.”
