As well as a number of fantastic restaurants and bistros, there are intimate bars, relaxed cafes and specialist stores, making the Greater Grassmarket the perfect destination to enjoy a delicious meal or quick bite to eat, or pick up unique local produce.
“We’re hoping our Food and Drink Week will put the Greater Grassmarket on the food map and encourage visitors and locals alike to sample the many dining options on offer whilst doing a bit of Christmas shopping at the same time.”
Tony Singh, chef, Tony Singh’s Restaurant in Apex Grassmarket Hotel, says: “The Greater Grassmarket steeped in history and showing off the best of Scotland’s larder, from pizzerias and mussel specialists, to artisan ice cream shops and pubs.
“It’s fantastic that you can dine where Auld Reekie ‘rough yins’ from days gone by would have had their last dram, before getting their neck stretched! Locals can often overlook this area when considering their dining out venue and this celebratory week aims to change that.”
