Thomas Strønen: Time is a Blind Guide

Thomas Strønen is a composer and percussionist who plays ‘melodic music with a twist’. The Anglo-Norwegian group has the notion of time as a key them and they will fascinate you jazz fiends as well as a wider audience.
Afro-Celt Sound System

They have sold one and a half million albums and now celebrate their 20th anniversary with a new album ‘The Source’ and an exhilarating live show.
Afro Celt Sound System Live features the core band members Simon Emmerson, Guinean vocalist, kora and balafon virtuoso N’Faly Kouyate and charismatic dhol master Johnny Kalsi, along with percussionist Robbie Harris and fiddle-player Eòghann MacEanruig, Ged Lynch on drums, Simon ‘Palmskin’ Richmond on keyboards and electronica and Val Etienne on backing vocals, with the gritty, witty rhymes of Gaelic rapper, musician and language activist Griogair.

Scottish Chamber Orchestra : Beethoven The Pastoral

Conducted by Richard Egarr this will feature Méhul’s Symphony No 1 in G Minor which he believes that this stormy work deserves a much higher status in 19th century music history.

Remember them? They formed in 1962 and appeared in The Beatles film ‘Magical Mystery Tour’. Their best known hit is probably ‘I’m the Urban Spaceman’ produced by Paul McCartney and Gus Dudgeon.
They will have special guests on stage with them.

Scottish Chamber Orchestra : Israel in Egypt

Hailstones and lightning, buzzing flies and leaping frogs… Israel in Egypt leads you excitedly through the plagues of Egypt and the crossing of the Red Sea, following Moses and the Children of Israel through the book of Exodus.
The epic nature of the story could not be more suited to Handel’s genius for story-telling and drama. Of all his great oratorios, Israel in Egypt is second only to Messiah in drama. It is dominated by virtuosic choruses, making it the perfect piece for the SCO Chorus.
King King + special guest Broken Witt Rebels

King King received a nomination for Best New Band at the 2015 Classic Rock Awards, and followed that up with an UK arena tour supporting Thunder that highlighted at a packed concert at London’s Wembley Arena. In the process they won over a raft of new fans.
The band’s 2015 album, Reaching For The Light, was voted #1 album by Blues Rock Review.
