Man taken to hospital following collision between Toyota and bin lorry.

The driver of a Toyota car has been taken to hospital following a collision with a bin lorry at West Port, near the Grassmarket area around 6.40am this morning.

The occupants of the bin lorry were not injured.

West Port was blocked eastbound with officers  directing traffic until the vehicles were cleared.

A police spokesman said road was fully reopened shortly before 8.30am.
