HERBERT – the answer to all our public transport woes?

Hendrick’s have taken on the challenge of addressing the poor standards and etiquette on public transport.

After years of tireless work Hendrick’s Ministry for Marginally Superior Transport have come up with a vision for mass transportation of Edinburgh residents.

This vision was unveiled on the streets of Edinburgh this week, cunningly disguised as a giant cucumber.

Hendrick’s Extraordinary Roving Bus for Exceptionally Refined Travel (HERBERT) has been showcasing what public transport should be like.

This is a vision of travelling in the refined comfort of a stately house, with poetry, cucumber sandwiches and of course plenty of gin.

I think we can all agree this would make the morning commute much more interesting. I hope that Lothian Buses are studying this prototype cucumber carefully, although as yet no plans have been announced to start the service on the morning commute.

Hendricks Gin Bus arrives in Edinburgh. A delightfully unusual Hendrick’s Gin bus called H.E.R.B.E.R.T. has arrived in Edinburgh today, and will be taking passengers on a whimsical tour of the city between 8th and 14th August. Max (beard) and Nick will be welcoming guests and entertaining them as they tour the city. 8th August 2016 — Hendricks Gin Bus arrives in Edinburgh.

For the time being those who share in the vision of a marginally superior from of transport will be able to join in the fun by boarding the bus at Bramble Cocktail Bar on Queen Street. Tickets are free here but there is a £2.50 admin charge. H.E.R.B.E.R.T. runs around the city from 16:00 to 21:00
