Our Pick of Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016 – The South Afreakins
The South Afreakins is a phenomenal dark comedic solo show and it’s one definitely to have on your Edinburgh list of “shows to see schedule”.
Written and performed by award winning actress Robyn Paterson the play is inspired by Paterson’s own parents ‘experience of emigrating from South Africa to New Zealand. Remarkably, the play unpicks the immigrant story; examines the pragmatic decisions to leave family and friends behind and the push and pull challenges faced when adapting to a new culture. Robyn performs both characters of Helene and Gordon brilliantly. A must see show.
