Hearts hopes of landing their first Youth Cup since 2000 were ended at the National Stadium on Wednesday night as Motherwell ran out 5-2 winners.

An error by Hearts goalkeeper Kelby Mason and an own goal from Daniel Baur in the first half set the pattern and although the Gorgie youngsters fought back with goals from Jordan McGhee and Dario Zanatta, defensive frailties meant the trophy would be heading to Fir Park.
