Niklas Gunnarsson aiming to put pressure of Falkirk with victory tonight
Hibs’ versatile defender Niklas Gunnarsson is fully focussed on collecting three points against Dumbarton at Easter Road tonight.
A victory will leave Hibs level on points with Falkirk with only one game left for both sides.
Hibs are at home to Queen of the South and Falkirk face Morton at home.
At present Hibs are seven goals behind on goal difference but could reduce that figure with a positive result against a team who have now avoided a play off place.
Speaking to Hibs TV,Gunnarsson said: “We have to do it. We are three points behind Falkirk and we need the three points to draw level with them.
“We don’t think about everybody else, we think about ourselves first and foremost. But we know if we get a good result that it will put pressure on Falkirk.
“Dumbarton can relax now and try something new. It is a lot of pressure when you are down there and it can be either an advantage or disadvantage for us.
“As a player you want to playas much as you can and to be in the starting eleven for two games in a row is good for me and I think I did good as well. I have trained hard and the gaffer has confidence in men.
“I like to play centre back so it’s nice and I have good players around me.
“It’s important to get the right recovery after games. We are taking ice baths and nutrition. the club is very professional and is top notch. Not all the teams I have played with have done the same.”
