ScottishPower Foundation calls for candidates for Edinburgh scholarships

logo_spWith just one week left to apply, The ScottishPower Foundation, in partnership with its Spanish equivalent Fundacion IBERDROLA, is calling on UK students to submit applications for its postgraduate scholarships scheme.

The programme, which is part of a £2.5m investment in research and education, is open to energy and environment graduates from the UK and will fund eighteen students for the 2016/17 academic year.

Places are available at some of the UK’s top Universities, including, University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, University of Strathclyde, University of Liverpool, University of East Anglia, Imperial College London and University of Cambridge. Two places will also be offered to students wishing to study at selected Spanish universities. Applications close on Tuesday, 29 March at 12 noon.

The Foundation is calling on current & upcoming graduates wishing to pursue a career in energy and environment related studies with a particular focus on the development of renewable, efficient energy systems and biodiversity. Scholarships are open to degree-holders and graduates, with those awarded receiving grants to cover full enrolment costs as well as generous living allowance.

The scholarships aim to contribute to the education of young professionals with the capabilities required to lead the energy industry into the future. Since it was launched in 2010, the scheme has provided over £2.5 million in grants towards training the next generation excellence in their chosen field.

In the last six years, the initiative has provided 72 students the opportunity to acquire the skills needed to build their careers, with support of some of the world’s best institutions in the UK, and we continue to be firmly invested in encouraging emerging talent at the highest level.”
