Elderly woman struck by car in Corstorphine Road

An investigation is underway after an elderly woman was struck by a car in Corstorphine Road around 8.20am this morning.

The collision resulted in Corstorphine Road being closed for just over an hour between Balgreen Road and Western Corner.

The woman was taken to hospital where her injuries were found to be minor in nature.

A police spokesman said: “An elderly woman has been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with minor injuries. Diversions were in place to allow emergency services access and the public are thanked for their patience and cooperation.”
