Man arrested in connection with attempted murder in Leith

A 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder in Leith at the weekend.

The incident happened on Coatfield Lane at around 8:30pm on Saturday  and resulted in a 40-year-old man being subjected to a sustained attack.

The victim is currently being treated at St John’s Hospital in Livingston and is in a stable condition.

The accused is due to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Thursday, November 19).
