James Keatings scored his second goal for Hibs in the 4-2 victory over Dumbarton at Easter Road on Saturday. Latching onto a superb through ball from Lewis Stevenson, Keatings calmly slotted the ball past Mark Brown to give his side a comfortable lead.

The popular striker who was freed by Hearts in the summer returned to first team action after suffering a  hamstring injury, and he is ready to  hit the goal trail.

Speaking immediately after the game to Hibs TV the forward said: “I missed ten games and it’s so frustrating sitting in the stand. Every player want to play as much as they can. I looked at the clock at 36 minutes and I was ‘blowing’ so I just need games and minutes on the pitch and I will get there.

“I’m fully confident the medical team have got it right this time and we can move on – it’s definitely been so frustrating for me.

“I wanted to come here and hit the ground running and score goals. That’s me got my second goal now and I want to keep continuing and scoring goals.”

“It was a great ball (from Lewis Stevenson) and a real teasing ball for the centre half and I just finished it off but it was a great assist.

“The team’s been doing great the last couple of weeks and the manager has changed it. It takes time for us to adjust but we were quick to settle and the two goals we lost were goals we could prevent and I’m sure the manager will be working on that.

“As a team we were delighted with the win and getting the three points is the main thing.”
