Police are appealing for information in order to trace a 36-year-old man who is reported missing from the Northumbria area.

Stuart Hamilton, who comes from and currently lives in the West End of Edinburgh, was last seen in the Northumbria area on Wednesday, August 26.  He has not been seen since and officers are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Stuart is described as a white man.  He is around 6ft 2” in height and has a stocky build.  He has short black hair, which is flecked with grey and receding. He often wears a gold ring and he has an East Coast Scottish accent.

He was last seen wearing a dark hoody and jeans with a light belt and dark shoes. He was also carrying a rucksack with a water bottle in the side.

It is understood that Stuart has recently started staying in various hotels across the UK.  Police also have reason to believe he may now be in the Leeds area.

Inspector Bob Innes said:  “Stuart has not been seen now for nearly nine weeks and we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“Anyone who has seen Stuart, either in Edinburgh or in Leeds, or has information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to contact police immediately.”

Those with information regarding Stuart Hamilton are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
