Comiston Road fatal collision – further appeal
Police have thanked the public for their response following an appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision on Comiston Road on Thursday (8th October).
The incident occurred around 8 pm when a 57-year-old man fell into the road and was then hit by a passing motor vehicle.
Officers would like to make a further appeal for the driver or other occupants of the small dark-coloured vehicle to come forward.
Subsequent investigations by police have shown that it is possible that the driver of the vehicle may not have been aware that what they had hit was a person.
Chief Inspector James Jones said: “Our investigations have shown that it is possible that the driver of the vehicle may not have been immediately aware they had struck a person.
“We would ask that anyone driving in the area of Comiston Road (Buckstone Terrace) around 8 pm on Thursday get in touch with us.”
