Hibs Ladies beat Cumbernauld Colts 7-0  at Broadwood Stadium in the Scottish Cup quarter-final yesterday.

Goals from Lizzie Arnot (2) Cailin Michie ,Chloe Arthur (2) and Liz Tweedie (2) secured the victory and afterwards manager Chris Roberts  told the club website:

“We are delighted to be in the next round of the competition and it was nice to see the goals shared around.

“The girls produced a really disciplined performance and moved the ball around well throughout the 90 minutes.

“Cumbernauld sat in deep and tried to make it difficult for us.  As a result we had lot of possession, so we needed to remain patient and find the right opportunity.

“Two goals in as many minutes gave us comfort and the game was killed off by half-time. It was nice to give everyone some game-time and it’s a pleasant way to start the weekend.”

Hibernian: Fife, Williamson, Brownlie, Hunter, Smith (Tweedie 46’), Robertson, Arthur (Heron 55’), Michie (Cornet 35’), Arnot, Richards, Harrison (Johnstone 46’). Subs all used.

Elsewhere, Hibs Girls U15 and U17 have both drawn Glasgow City in the semi-finals of their respective Scottish Cup competitions.

Meanwhile, Lizzie Arnot, Kirsty Smith and Chloe Arthur have been called up for the national side for the International Challenge Match against Norway at Firhill Stadium, next Thursday.

The match completes Scotland’s preparations for the upcoming UEFA Women’s EURO 2017 qualifiers.
