Man in court following Princes Street assault

A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted robbery and serious assault, which occurred on Princes Street on Friday, July 31.

Officers in Stirling detained the 40-year-old.  He has also been arrested and charged by British Transport Police officers in connection with an earlier theft.

He will appear Edinburgh Sheriff Court today
