Voluntary Arts week begins today
From choirs to knitting groups, amateur drama companies to orchestras, Edinburgh has so many ways for local residents to get creative – and Voluntary Arts Week is the perfect opportunity to celebrate all the city has to offer.
Taking place from 15 – 24 May 2015 across the UK, Voluntary Arts Week celebrates the creative activity already taking place – and encourages newcomers to discover the joy of taking part.
Visit the Voluntary Arts Week website to see what’s happening in the Edinburgh area that week, including:
- Union Canal CraftBomb – Help install a colourful CraftBomb on the Leamington Lift Bridge.
- Big Big Sing Day – A fun-filled afternoon of singing at the
Usher Hall.
- Say It Ain’t Sew @ Cabaret Voltaire – The coolest sewing
club in town.
- Mons Meg Rapper – Learn a few moves with this Leith sword
dance team.
- All the Young Nudes – Life drawing to top tunes.
And much more besides . . .
