Further appeal after Edinburgh Scarf Co robbery
Police want to trace two people who were seen in the south of city a short time after an armed robbery at the weekend.
On Saturday at around 6:40pm, a male and female wearing balaclavas entered the Edinburgh Scarf Co premises on the High Street and threatened a member of staff at knifepoint before making off on foot with a small quantity of cash and a selection of goods.
Later that same evening a man and woman were reportedly seen selling a selection of scarves in the Green Mantle Public House in West Crosscauseway sometime between 9pm and 11:30pm
It is not clear whether or not the pair had anything to do with the robbery however police want to trace them as part of their investigation and are appealing to anyone who encountered them to come forward.
The male is described as being short with a thin build and wearing an oversized dark coat. A description of the female is not available at this time.
Detective Inspector Stuart Harkness said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries as part of investigation into this robbery.
“At this stage we cannot say whether or not the male and female who were seen in the Green Mantle played any role in the incident itself however we want to speak to them as part of our investigation.
“Therefore, I ask anyone who seen or spoke to them to please contact police.”
