Councillor Ronnie Cairns had his shaved for charity earlier this year, and last week he returned to the Western General to hand over the cash.

The SNP representative for Drum Brae/Gyle ward had the misfortune to attend the Edinburgh Cancer Centre last year following his cancer diagnosis.

He handed over Ā£1,000 toĀ wards 56 and 57 at the Western General Hospital who might use the funds for audio books and the Edinburgh Cancer Centre who will use the money for staff training.
