Witness appeal following collision on Gilmerton Road

Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision on Gilmerton Road which happened around 11.50pm on Friday on the A7 near to its junction with the A772.

A silver Renault Clio collided with a HGV and a 19-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he is considered to be in a serious condition.

Sergeant Neil Inglis said: “We are appealing for anyone who saw the incident, or the vehicles shortly beforehand, to get in touch as soon as possible.

“Anyone who can assist with our enquiries is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
