Woman taken to hospital after suspicious fire in Slateford
Police are investigating the cause of a fire which broke out just after 7pm on Sunday at the front door of the flat in the Slateford area of the city.
The four people were rescued from the balcony of the property in Moat Drive and one woman was to be taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to be treated for smoke inhalation.
A police spokesman said: “Police in Edinburgh responded to an address in Moat Drive at around 7.05pm on Sunday, January 11 following reports of a fire.
“All occupants were removed from the building and a woman was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for minor smoke inhalation.
“The fire is being treated as suspicious and anyone with information that can assist officers is asked to come forward immediately.”
