Former Hibs’ Chairman Douglas Cromb dies aged 84.

Former Hibs’ Chairman Douglas Cromb has died aged 84.

The  lifelong supporter of the club,  spent six years as Chairman and served on the board for nine-and-a-half years.

He  also served on the Scottish FA Council, was Chairman when Hibs won the Skol Cup in 1991 before stepping down from the role in May 1997.

Chairman Rod Petrie paid tribute to the contribution made by Douglas Cromb: “On behalf of everybody at Hibernian, we’re very sorry to hear the sad news of Douglas’ passing. He served the club for many years and will be fondly remembered.

“Douglas was a passionate supporter of the club and he was instrumental in the formation of Club ’86’ which supported youth development.

“He formed a strong bond with manager Alex Miller and he enjoyed success at Hibernian with the famous Skol Cup win in 1991.

“Everybody associated with the club would like to pass on sincere condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
