Scott Allan looking to climb the table
Hibs’ midfielder Scott Allan is determined to put together another string of results with a view to climbing the table and overtaking Queen of the South and Rangers in the Championship.
The Easter Road side are currently two points behind the ‘Doonhamers’ but with an identical goal difference, so should Hibs win and Queens lose then they will move into third place.
Allan and his team mates travel to Kirkcaldy on Saturday than host Rangers on the 27th before the Edinburgh derby at Tynecastle on 3rd January.
The former Dundee United and West Bromwich Albion star is returning to the form which persuaded England manager Roy Hodgson to take him to the Hawthorns.
Speaking to Hibs TV, Allan said: “It’s a real chance for us to put a run together and catch up on some of the teams in front of us – there are a few must-win games coming up for us.
“I was delighted that we got the three points against Alloa after last week’s defeat and that we got back to winning ways.
“Obviously it was great to get a good result and a clean sheet in front of our own fans. I’m getting fitter and getting back to playing the way that I used to play. That’s been the main thing for me. I missed out on a pre-season, so it has taken longer than expected. But I’m starting to feel like myself again.”
