A nationwide recruitment drive by the British Army throughout Scotland came to Hamilton this week, with dozens of officers and soldiers from Regular Army and local Army Reserve units teaming up to visit the town to offer young people the chance to find out more about the challenging and rewarding Army roles available.

Soldiers and officers from 1 SCOTS also took part in a parade through the town led by the Regimental band, ending at South Lanarkshire Council headquarters, where representatives from Royal Engineers, Royal Electrical and mechanical Engineers, Infantry, and Royal Artillery were on hand at a careers fair, to talk to potential recruits about the wide variety of jobs on offer with the British Army.

This was their first trip back home to Scotland from their new base in Belfast, when they moved to from Dreghorn Barracks in Belfast in August this year.
