Police recover body in Loch Tay

Police searching for a missing canoeist who capsized on Loch Tay have found a body.

29 year old Darren Gilpin, from Edinburgh, was in a two-person canoe with a friend when they capsized in Perthshire at 4.45pm on Saturday.

The friend was able to swim to shore and raise the alarm.

An extensive search was undertaken and police divers recovered the body of a man from the loch last night.

Police Scotland said investigations are continuing into the incident.
