Loch Tay body identified as missing canoeist Darren Gilpin

Police have confirmed that the body recovered from Loch Tay is that of missing Canoeist Darren Gilpin.

The 29-year-old had been out on the water in the Killin area on Saturday afternoon when his two-man boat capsized.

His friend made it ashore and raised the alarm and a police operation was then launched to trace Mr Gilpin before his body was recovered on Sunday evening.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
