EDINBURGH, UK – 24th July 2014: A new app deveoped by Desgin Informatics researchers at the University of Edinburgh aims to challenge children to track down some of the city’s most valuable artifacts in a digital treasure hunt. Utilising GPS technology the app, Treasure Trapper, tasks players with finding thirty scattered objects such as Greyfriar Bobby’s collar, Robert Louis Stevenson’s ring, and Robert Burns’ swordcane, which are transported virtually on tour buses around the city. Pictured treasure hunters try out the app left to right Amy Crummey age 8, Sam Webb age 7, Amber Webb age 6 and Aoife Sharkey age 6. (Photograph: MAVERICK PHOTO AGENCY)
