Are you under 21 and want to start a band?
Then read this!
The Collective Gallery and artist/musician Ross Sinclair are giving away enough instruments to start FIVE bands in Edinburgh this summer. Ross has been a leading figure in the collaboration between art and music in Scotland for many years.
2014 is the 25th anniversary of Ross’s Real Life projects – to celebrate he’s not only giving these instruments away, he and other musicians are going to work with the bands to write and perform new music.
To qualify, you must be under 21, committed to starting a band, interested in performing and be able and willing to take part in this project over the coming year. If you are selected, you will get instruments, recording time, mentoring and distribution – and all of it FREE!
Ross has an exhibition at the Collective Gallery as part of the nationwide GENERATION programme – there will be an opportunity for you to come and try out the instruments at the Gallery every Saturday 1pm-5pm until 31st August 2014. So what are you waiting for?!
