Hibs’ EOS held onto top spot in the First Division with a 4-1 away victory over Eyemouth thanks to goals from Taylor Hendry, Lewis Allan and Jamie Beaton (two penalties.)

Head of Academy Coaching James McDonaugh was delighted with the performance of his youngsters and told Hibernian TV: “We started brilliantly; Taylor Hendry scored a technically brilliant drive into the top corner from outside the box after two minutes, but then conceded before half time to go in level.

“The message at the interval was just to tidy up on the ball, play a bit more and relax. I honestly felt we played very well in the second half.

“We moved the ball around the pitch well and controlled the whole second half. Beaton showed great composure to score two penalties and Allan again came up with another goal, that’s six in four games for him.

“I was delighted for the boys to get this win, we’ve gone behind Easthouses for one week and in the space of the last fortnight we now have a lead at the top of the table of points.

“Easthouses have a game in hand they now must win – it sets us up well with two league games left.”

Hibernian EOS: Kleton Perntreou, Jamie Beaton, Andrew Black, Aaron Dunsmore, Callum Crane, Bob Wilson, Neil Martyniuk, Dean Horribine, Taylor Hendry, Lewis Allan, Gareth McCaffrey. Subs: Jordan Sinclair for Black, Max Todd for Hendry, Scott Martin for McCaffrey

Hibernian under-20s are back in SPFL U20 League action against fellow title contenders Rangers at the Training Centre on Tuesday afternoon (25 March, kick off 2pm).

Then on Thursday afternoon Hibernian under-20s travel north to face Inverness Caledonian Thistle at the Highland Football Academy, Dingwall in a rearranged fixture, kick off 2pm.
