Witness appeal following Drumbrae Post Office robbery

Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a post office in Drumbrae this afternoon.

The incident took place at 1.10pm at the Duart Crescent post office when a customer was robbed of a three-figure sum at knifepoint by two men. They made off in an east direction towards Dochart Drive.

The two males are described as white, early 20s, with hoods up and a tan substance or tan tights over their face, and one in a grey hoodie and jogging bottoms.

Detective Inspector Rory Hamilton said: “This has been a frightening experience for the customer as well as the staff in the post office.

“If anyone saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident or recognises the description of the suspects, then they should contact police immediately.”
