Operation RAC – Two men appear in court

Two men have appeared in court in Edinburgh following inquiries by police in the capital in relation to Operation RAC.

Steven Graham, aged 23, and 26 -year-old Alan Elder appeared from custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday after they were charged with two theft by house-breaking, one attempted house breaking with intent, one count of shoplifting and a number of road traffic offences.

The alleged house-breakings relate to incidents in Bleachfield, Edinburgh and Murrayfield Gardens and property to the value of £50,000 has been recovered.

Operation RAC was launched in December to tackle housebreaking in many communities throughout the country where the issue was identified as a local priority.

A number of arrests have already been made within Edinburgh and officers continue to pursue offenders throughout the region.
