Butcher allows three young players to leave Hibs on loan

Hibs’ boss Terry Butcher has started the January transfer window by allowing three young players to leave the club on loan.

Fraser Mullen has joined first division Raith Rovers until the end of the season.

The youngster who moved to Easter Road after being freed by Hearts has struggled to get into the Hibs’ first team since the arrival of Terry Butcher.

With Jordon Forster making the right back slot his own and experienced player / coach Alan Maybury available as cover, the Glasgow born youngster agreed to the move to Starks Park.

Striker Ross Caldwell has also left Hibs on a loan deal with Alloa Athletic.

Caldwell’s last appearance came against Ross County in Dingwall which d ended in controversy when he came on as a substitute and was himself substituted with seconds remaining resulting in a touchline bust up with manager Terry Butcher.

Since then he has been on the bench, but has not started a game.

Manager Paul Hartley is also believed to be tracking former Hearts star Rudi Skacel,

Elsewhere, Hibs’ highly rated youngster David Gold has joined Cowdenbeath on loan until the end of the season.

Gold had spent the first part of the campaign at Queens Park but has agreed to join up with former assistant manager Jimmy Nicholl at Central Park.

He will be in the pool for tomorrow’s game against Ian Murray’s Dumbarton.
