Bonhams Scottish Sale to be held in April

Bonhams Edinburgh is moving the date of its popular Scottish Sale from August to April, starting in 2014.  The first sale on the new timetable will take place on 15 and 16^th April 2014.

Bonhams has held a Scottish Sale in Edinburgh every year since 1999, traditionally coinciding with the International Edinburgh Festival. In recent years, however, the link has become less relevant as the nature of the Festival has gradually changed. The company has, therefore, decided to move the sale to the more convenient time of April.

Bonhams Managing Director in Scotland, Miranda Grant, said, “Over the past 14 years our Scottish Sale has earned a global reputation as the Number One sale of Scottish Paintings and objects in the country. As the only international saleroom to hold sales in Scotland we are proud to attract so many buyers and sellers from around the world to this sale.”

The Scottish Sale in April 2014 will bring together – exactly as it has in the past – the best in Scottish Arts and artefacts, from record breaking Peploes to rare Scottish silver, Jacobite glass, the arms and armours of soldiers and clansmen, ceramics from the towns and villages of Fife; a varied and eclectic mix representing the art and history of Scotland.
