Shakespeare’s plays being shown on screen in Edinburgh tomorrow
Following two incredibly successful years, the 2013 Globe on Screen season is underway. Shakespeare’s Globe, in partnership with Arts Alliance Media, has brought three blockbusters from its award-winning 2012 theatre season to cinemas around the world, with The Taming of the Shrew and the Olivier-nominated Twelfth Night still being shown in Edinburgh later this summer.
Audiences will have the opportunity to experience the world’s most famous stage as if they were there in person. All three performances have been captured in high definition and will be broadcast in their entirety in pristine digital cinema quality, with full 5.1 surround sound.

Twelfth Night was one of London theatre’s biggest hits of summer 2012, completely selling out all of its performances at the Globe and creating queues around the block in the West End. Vue Ocean Terminal will be showing the production tomorrow Sunday 7 July at 3pm.
The Taming of the Shrew is Shakespeare’s notorious battle of the sexes, giving audiences one of theatre’s great screwball double-acts in the shape of Katherina and Petruchio, a couple hell-bent on confusing and outwitting each other right up to the play’s controversial conclusion. The Cameo will be showing this on Thursday 1 August at 12 midday and Vue Ocean Terminal will be showing it on Monday 29 July at 7:30pm and Sunday 4 August at 3pm.
