Police confirm identity of alleged murder victim

Police Scotland have confirmed the identity of an alleged murder victim who was discovered within a flat in Edinburgh over the weekend as 40-year-old Craig MacKenzie from Milton Street.

Detectives launched a major investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death and a 47-year-old man was later charged and appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday 8th July.

The family of Mr MacKenzie have now released the following statement through Police Scotland:

“Craig was a much loved son, brother, and uncle and our family are struggling to come to terms with his death.

“We would very much appreciate it if we would be allowed to grieve in peace while police continue with their enquiries.”
