“Hound Dog” which premieres at Sweet Grassmarket on 2nd August is also written and directed by Ginny Davis “Hound Dog”, is a comedic seven-handed play about the impact on an unwilling family of a mother’s determination to import an abandoned dog. Two characters play dogs. “Hound Dog” was inspired by Davis’s importation of a dog from Crete into her family, to their universal disagreement. The dog is now happily settled, in an untrained kind of way.

Davis is a barrister turned full time writer and performer of material she writes. Her first two appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2008 and 2010 were both sell-out runs. (Ten Days .. that shook the kitchen 2008 and Double Booked 2010). This is her third.
