Municipal Theatre London presents CAIN by Lord Byron

Municipal Theatre London performs a two-man adaptation of Lord Byron’s rarely performed classic verse-drama, chronicling the hours prior to Cain’s fratricide. Actor Alex Pardey portrays the title character, alongside Igor Memic as the angel Lucifer. Directed by Rio Matchett.

In the dark wilderness beyond the gates of Eden, Cain, the first born son of Adam and Eve holds nothing but contempt for the God that expelled his parents from the sacred garden. Yet from the darkness, his prayers are heard; Lucifer, the fallen angel, offers him knowledge and salvation. But at a price.

“If he gives you good, so call him. If evil springs from him, do not name it mine till ye know better its true fount.”

Municipal Theatre London is a recently established theatre company which produces pieces under the aesthetic of ‘Immersive Surrealism’, a developmental set of stage theories by dramatist Igor Memic; a concept he will be developing with the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama from October 2013. MUNI’s previous Edinburgh Fringe production was a showcase of Happy, at Greenside studios (“Absurdist theatre done absurdly well.” – Fringe Biscuit).
