Man arrested for attempted murder in Canongate

A 35-year-old male has been arrested and charged with the alleged attempted murder of a man in a flat in the Canongate on Friday 31 May 2013.

The male, who has not been named, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called to the property  around 7.10am on Friday, where they discovered a seriously injured 53 year old man who was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
