Man arrested after van fire in Stenhouse

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged fire-raising in Edinburgh over the weekend.

A Renault Kangoo van was completely destroyed during the incident, which happened around 6.15am on Sunday 23rd June.

The 17-year-old is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Monday).

Police continue to appeal for witnesses and are keen to speak with anyone who remembers seeing a male walking in the Stenhouse Crescent area in possession of a yellow lawnmower and a petrol canister before 6am yesterday.

Anyone who can assist officers with their enquiries is asked to come forward immediately.
