Edinburgh Festival Fringe – Party Piece
Party Piece, Bedlam, 2 to 24 August, £9 (£5 concessions)
Four good friends
Two chipped teeth
Six stolen garden gnomes
Three broken bathroom tiles
Five suspicious stains on the carpet
Too much alcohol
ONE EPIC PARTY
It’s the morning after the night before. Aiden needs a drink, Jack’s been dumped, Steve needs a lie down and Lorna’s feeling sick.
Originally commissioned by the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich, Party Piece is a funny, dynamic, brave and honest piece of theatre made for young people, by young people.
Written by New Wolsey Associate Director, Rob Salmon, and performed by the New Wolsey Young Associates, Party Piece digs beneath the surface bravado of a quartet of party-goers to find that they are full of hopes, fears and self-doubt. The play raises questions about their futures and friendships as the need to belong contrasts sharply with the fear of having to go it alone as they venture out into the adult world.
The New Wolsey Young Associates are young people aged 18 – 22 who are actively pursuing a career in the arts. The cast of four are Jack Brett, Lorna Garside, Aiden Napier and Steve Withers.
