32 year old man to appear in Court after High Street Incident

Police have confirmed that a 32 year old man who was arrested and charged following an incident in Edinburgh’s High Street last night is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Thursday).

A woman, who is also believed to have been involved in the incident  is currently being treated in hospital after she took ill.

Officers were forced to cordon off part of the High Street at John Knox House after members of the public reported seeing a couple within a chemist shop there who were believed to be in possession of bladed weapons.

Specially trained officers used tasers to effect the arrest.
