Fundraising for RNLI Queensferry
The RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat Crew of Helmsman Iain Leil, Michael Garfitt and Ross Denver had just returned from assisting a catamaran demasted off Dalgety Bay in stormy conditions, when they were called to the Bikers’ Cave across the road from the Hawes Pier.
Over 400 motor cyclists from all over Scotland from Aberdeen to Stranraer and Dunbar to Largs had attended a barbecue organised by Kev Meldrum from Edinburgh to raise funds for the RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat Station and with raffles, auctions and home baking raised the amazing total of £2000.00.
Just a few weeks ago the bikers at the Bikers’ Cove donated another £450.00 to the Lifeboat Station , when dressed as highlanders they entertained the passengers from one of the cruise ships visiting South Queensferry.
