Previously he attended Perth Grammar School and Auchtergaven Primary School, Bankfoot. From 2005 to date he has acted as a Political Adviser, and before that he worked with The Executive Council, Province of Prince Edward Island, Canada for a year.
He was involved for about five years in the Tourism Industry in Perthshire and his family forestry business which is also situated in Perthshire. Miles’ hobbies include Hill walking, rugby, countryside issues, photography, Scottish history and Scottish music.
Briggs said:-“I grew up in Perthshire and first became involved with the local associations helping with local campaigns. Politics for me is all about community campaigning and the Conservative Party once again being at the heart of local issues and campaigns. I have lived in the Leith Walk ward for over six years.
Voters across Edinburgh feel let down by the current Liberal Democrat / SNP run Edinburgh City Council. After all the upheaval of the trams is it any wonder that the Council has lost the confidence of many local residents and small businesses.
I am seeking election to Edinburgh City Council to give our community an effective, enthusiastic and energetic voice on the Council and make sure that the needs of our communities are put first.”
