Council Elections 2012 – Meet the candidates – Dominic Heslop

Dominic Heslop, has been selected to succeed respected veteran councillor Alastair Paisley as the Conservative candidate for the Pentland Hills ward.

The diverse ward stretches from Ratho and Balerno through to Currie and Juniper Green and in to Clovenstone and Kingsnowe. Dominic, a 35 year-old St Andrews University graduate, has assisted in local political campaigns for many years. After his selection Dominic said, ‘It is an immense honour to be asked to follow in the footsteps of Alastair Paisley as the Conservative candidate for Pentland Hills. My pledge to you is to continue Alastair’s tradition of civic duty and remember that local government is not a political battleground, but about local people with local concerns.

“I will represent your interests, from the state of the roads to local schooling. Having both worked for the NHS and in private medical care, I fully understand the concerns people have as to how local services should be provided and how they should operate in your best interests. Now working as an Advisor to Dr Nanette Milne MSP, one of my priorities will be to fight for proper health and social care provision for all local residents.”

“As a councillor, there is a lot of work to do for local residents and with your support I look forward to that challenge.”
