Edinburgh Napier Drama Society do Roald Dahl – TONIGHT!
Edinburgh Napier University Drama Society (NUDS) are the last amateur dramatic group in the country to perform Roald Dahl’s ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ before it opens in London’s West End.
The play, which has already run for two successful nights, is being performed tonight, Friday 30 March, in Adam House on Chambers Street, alongside ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’, another of Dahl’s stories.
The society were the last to get the rights to perform the story before it opens in the West End later this year. It is expected that the final performance will draw in one of the largest crowds NUDS has ever had. Tickets are available on the doors which open at 7pm but it is advisable to arrive earlier to avoid disappointment.
The novel has been made into a film twice. Gene Wilder played the factory-owner Willy Wonka in the 1971 version and Johnny Depp portrayed him in Tim Burton’s 2005 version.
