AUDIO – Launch of 98.8 Castle FM

The new kid on the radio block is 98.8 Castle FM. Previously known as Leith FM the station has undergone some changes and I was lucky enough to be on the open-top launch bus for The Reporter. Here is my audio report!

Sir Tom Farmer relaunched the community station, Leith FM, as 98.8 Castle FM on Friday the 23rd of March 2012, being the first speaker to take the station to the airwaves.

The station, which celebrates its fifth anniversary in April, just completed a £10,000 project to create state-of-the-art studios at its Leith premises which are named after businessman Sir Tom.

The aim of the rebrand is to bring the station to a wider Edinburgh audience and with the station hitting over 200,000 listeners a month, it is expected to be a huge success whilst continuing with their strong community roots and eclectic radio shows.
