Michelin star chef Tom Kitchin visited pupils at Edinburgh’s Leith Walk Primary School today to support the biggest push in history to end world hunger.

Save the Children’s No Child Born to Die campaign aims to stop 2.6 million children dying every year from the effects of malnutrition, which is set to worsen amidst rising food prices.

Chef Tom and the Primary 1 school pupils demonstrated the types of foods that children should be eating to stay healthy.

Save the Children warns that if no concerted action is taken, half a billion children will be physically and mentally stunted over the next 15 years.

Top Scottish Michelin starred chef, Tom Kitchin said:

“As a chef, and a father myself, I’m very aware of the importance of ensuring children have access to the right kind of foods, which provide the nutrients they need to grow and thrive. Unfortunately, for some families around the world, this isn’t the reality”.
