A soldier from 2nd Battlion Royal Regiment of Scotland was killed at the weekend in a car crash near Penicuik. Associated Press tell us that another man was in a critical condition at Royal Infirmary Edinburgh.

An Edinburgh cyclist has died following a fall from his bike in Perthshire as reported in The Scotsman.
