Fans come from far and wide to see Bon Jovi

The countdown is on until American rock legends Bon Jovi play Murrayfield tonight in Edinburgh.

The band, fronted by Jon Bon Jovi, are famous for tracks like ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’, ‘It’s My Life’ and rock ballad ‘Always’.

Tonight they will kick off the UK leg of their 2011 tour in the Capital and fans have come from far and wide to see their only Scottish tour date.

Susan Wilson from Stirling said: “I’m very excited to see Bon Jovi tonight. It will be my second time seeing them and I’m really looking forward to hearing ‘It’s My Life’. I hope they’ll do something special since it’s their only Scottish tour date but he does have a sore knee so we’ll just have to wait and see.”

Some people have come even further to see the rockers. Standing in the rain with a Bon Jovi hoodie on, Nadine from North Germany is waiting eagerly for tonight’s gig: “I’m most looking forward to hearing ‘Damned’ and ‘I Believe’. I’ve actually seen them 12 times now. I really want them to play ‘Damned’ as I haven’t heard them play that live before. I’ve come over for a holiday; it’s a long way to come but it’s definitely worth it.”

Brothers Chris and Liam Christie travelled up from Sunderland, England, this afternoon and are keyed up for tonight: “We can’t wait. We’re huge Bon Jovi fans. We went to Montreal last year to see them and we also saw them at the O2 in London. They were brilliant. We literally just drove in about an hour ago.  What we really want to hear is ‘Make a Memory’. It’s our favourite song.”
