“We invite you to come and support the next generation of young jazz musicians supported on stage by some of Scotland’s very best musicians: Paul Harrison (piano), Calum Gourlay (bass) and Alyn Cosker (drums).
Now in its 5th successful year, the Scottish Jazz Federation is proud to present this year’s semi finalists chosen by a panel of experts through blind listening and, as in previous years, they come from a wide geographical spread and age range. The standard is extremely high.
Past winners have included award winning musicians such as pianist Alan Benzie, saxophonist Joe Wright, bassist Andrew Robb and the 2010 winner saxophonist John Fleming.
Our main sponsors are Creative Scotland and we also gratefully acknowledge the support of the Carntyne Trust, Yamaha Education, Glasgow Jazz Festival, BBC Radio Scotland’s Jazz House (92-95 FM, Digital and Online), The Queen’s Hall and all those who have donated prizes and their free time.
